Emory Women Writers Resource ProjectProfessor Sheila Cavanagh, Director.![]()
The Emory Women Writers Resource Project is a collection of edited and unedited texts by women writing in English from the seventeenth century through the nineteenth century. The Project is a pedagogical tool, designed to offer graduate and undergraduate students in various disciplines the opportunity to edit their own texts. Examples of graduate student work are available under the heading "Edited Texts." A complete list of unedited texts, the pedagogic introduction, suggestions for assignments, and bibliographic resources are listed under the heading "Unedited Texts." The Beck Center staff tags these texts using SGML format in conformity with TEI guidelines. The Emory Women Writers Resource Project is the result of a continuing collaboration between the Lewis H. Beck Center at Woodruff Library, the Virtual Library Project, Professor Sheila Cavanagh, and graduate students in the Department of English. We are pleased to announce that the Emory Women Writers Resource Project has been chosen as a selection by the Scout Report, the premier weekly collection of useful Internet sites.
